Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Safety Paramedic/Trainer includes, but is not limited to, working closely with NSAR Teammates, Contractors and Leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety culture, performance and safety systems. The Safety Paramedic/Trainer will interpret and practically apply regulatory and consensus standards (OSHA, NFPA, NRC, etc.), develop and update policies and procedures, conduct and document incident investigations, safety inspections/audits, develop action plans and follow up, and conduct safety training and participate in emergency response teams. This position requires working scheduled and unscheduled overtime, some overnight travel, and the ability to be on call 24/7 to respond to safety needs.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3years paramedic experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with emergency response scene command.
- Clear understanding and ability to execute the scheduling of training both internally and externally.
- Be certified to effectively teach First Responder Training, CPR Training, Fire Bregade Training
- Firefighter 1 and 2 certified.
