Safety Technician

About You

You're an objective thinker who understands the risks involved with working Heavy Equipment and other industrial work. You have a keen eye for identifying potential hazards, and you like to work as part of a team to create solutions. You're looking for a position where you can work both inside and outdoors and develop into a safety specialist. You're not afraid to research solutions when you don't know the answer, including interpreting safety regulations. Training comes naturally to you, and you enjoy sharing your knowledge and know-how with others.

Day in the Life

After grabbing your favorite morning beverage, you:

  • Start up your computer and formulate a plan for the day
  • Develop and deliver training items for the site
  • Ensure proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is available for our team
  • Communicate well with Operations to ensure safe practices are followed
  • Identify hazards and formulate effective solutions with the team
  • Visit off-site job sites regularly
  • Track training and identify trends
  • Provide sound recommendations to keep our site safe
  • Conduct incident investigations
  • Develop and implement corrective actions

What you need to apply
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred (BS in related field preferred, i.e. Environmental Safety, Industrial Hygiene)
  • Moderate computer skills (experience with Microsoft Office Suite)
  • 1-3 years of related experience preferred
  • Ability to travel on a regular basis
  • Willing to wear a respirator and/or PPE as needed
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks and drug screening
