The University of California, Santa Barbara (UC Santa Barbara) is a public land-grant research institution. The Position
Reporting to the associate vice chancellor for housing, dining & auxiliary enterprises (HDAE), the senior executive director, auxiliary services is a vital member of the division's leadership team. The senior executive director is responsible for the general oversight of multiple auxiliary functions within the HDAE division, serves as a senior member of the HDAE management group, and assumes responsibility for the entire division in the absence of the associate vice chancellor.

The senior executive director represents HDAE to numerous constituencies on and off campus, maintaining a highly visible and customer-facing presence while serving external and internal audiences. Providing a unifying vision and leadership for the auxiliary operations of the campus store, conference & hospitality services—including The Club & Guest House, transportation & parking services, and administration of the university center (student activity hub) and events center are key components of the senior executive director's portfolio of responsibility.

The senior executive director is responsible for policy development, fiscal oversight, and long-range strategic planning for the division as well as developing programs to meet the needs of students, faculty, staff and community members, in conjunction with meeting divisional priorities. They will directly supervise four director-level professional staff and approximately 75 additional staff members. The senior executive director oversees a $27.7M auxiliary budget.





Qualifications
Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree and four or more years of progressive, relevant experience in higher education auxiliary services or comparable field. Successful candidates must have a positive track record of supervisory and leadership skills within an auxiliary organization reflecting excellent communication, relationship-building, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities. Documented ability to perform well in a high-paced, often stressful, environment will also be an important consideration in the selection of the next senior executive director. Master's degree preferred.

The public salary range is $180,000.00-$220,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience.
