The Senior Manager, Content Marketing is responsible for the strategy and execution of innovative marketing campaigns to achieve growth and retention goals for the Global Insurance and Connected Car businesses. This position will take the organization's brand messaging to a new level. We are seeking a talented, proactive and dynamic individual who is excited to build and expand our brand profile via compelling, targeted content, relevant to the global markets we serve.

This role will support diverse and expanding media channels and marketing mix, working directly with our business and marketing leadership, vertical marketing managers, product management, sales and supporting centers of excellence areas to define and execute on a strategic messaging platform and content marketing assets.

The Senior Manager, Content Marketing will develop positioning and messaging, drive content mapping that aligns to the marketing funnel and target audience, ensure content is optimized for SEO and manage content creators while acting as editor to ensure our content is on target/on brand and meets the needs of the organization for our awareness, acquisition and retention goals.

The ideal candidate is a creative, strategic thinker who knows what an innovative and consistent content marketing strategy can do for an organization. S/he will develop the content marketing strategy and supporting assets in partnership with business and marketing stakeholders. This means the candidate must be an expert in content marketing strategy and able to execute in a matrixed environment and have an eye for creating compelling, professional, multimedia content; great at building key relationships; a history of executing integrated marketing campaigns and have previous B2B marketing experience, within insurance or financial services industries a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for content marketing strategies, plans and assets, including white papers, blog posts, infographics and online web property content, including corporate web sites and blogs
  • Assist in preparing strategic content marketing plan with vertical marketing managers
  • Manage agency content creators as they execute the tactical pieces of a campaign strategy
  • Ensure content marketing strategy is consistent and reflects the organization's strategic vision and roadmap
  • Establish strong relationships across business unit verticals, marketing, product, sales and support organizations
  • Work closely with the Senior Director, Content Marketing and Events to define a global content marketing strategy
  • Assist the Senior Director, Content Marketing and Events in managing and developing effective and compelling optimized content including, but not limited to, web page copy, white papers, sales sheets, infographics and videos.
  • Partner with the Insurance Marketing team leads in developing vertical specific content to be used in ongoing marketing campaigns.
  • Manages deadlines, coordinates workflow, monitors progress and reports results of content marketing efforts.
  • Partners with the Senior Marketing Manager, Social Media and others on the Content Marketing team on opportunities to leverage content across our branded Social Media platforms and global online properties.
  • Continually optimize content to improve SEO results.
  • Reports to the Senior Director, Content Marketing and Events while working with Marketing Managers, Corporate Marketing stakeholders and external copywriting/design resources.
Requirements
  • At least 10 years' experience in marketing communications
  • Strong knowledge of B2B marketing mix and media channels; PR experience a plus
  • Extensive experience in messaging and value proposition development
  • Experience developing and implementing integrated content marketing strategies for diverse audience segments
  • Strong copy writing and proofing skills a must, fluent in AP Style
  • Inventive, perceptive self-starter, capable of adapting quickly in a fast-changing environment
  • Ability to develop stories, narratives and connect the dots between mega-trends, economic movements and our global target markets
  • Proven conceptual and project management skills
  • 4-year college degree, preferably in Communications, Marketing or Business
  • Ability to review market research, data and analyses to uncover underlying drivers, assess potential impact, and design aligned communication strategies and metrics
  • Experience in working in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders and partners
  • Exceptional verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices in developing optimized content.
  • Strong organization and problem solving skills. Ability to create and maintain and communicate project plans and timelines.
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional quality content on time.
  • Strong data-driven, analytic attitude and the ability to find and share content marketing insights from performance reporting.
  • An understanding of social media and its ability to promote quality content.
  • Experience with tools including WordPress, SiteCore, SmartSheet, BaseCamp and MS Office.
