What you'll be doing:

The Senior Manager, Public Relations will set and execute OXO's North American PR strategies while working alongside the broader Brand Communications team to ensure prioritization and alignment on product marketing and brand storytelling. This role will craft the PR strategy as well as ensure execution. Promote the OXO brand and its products across a robust portfolio, messaging to a variety of media outlets via key editor contacts, garnering print, online, television, and non-traditional forms of coverage.

Accountable for growing the brand through earned media coverage within the rapidly changing media landscape. A key partner in the execution of the brand's partnerships and lifestyle initiatives, namely the Chefs in Residence and 1% for the Planet campaigns. Lead and work alongside an existing PR associate and report to the Marketing & Communications Director, and serve as a liaison with key global regions/markets to offer perspective and expertise for regional global efforts.


  • Drive a national PR Strategy for OXO that gathers the attention of external audiences: press, editors, influencers, etc.

  • Build innovative PR product launch strategies for key brand portfolio and product launches, known as elevated and seasonal launches.

  • Work closely with the Brand Communications team to adapt a full annual marketing calendar to align with PR initiatives. Work in tandem with Brand Communications and OXO.com teams to create a seamless and compelling consumer brand journey.

  • Build seasonal plans and story maps to support communications and brand objectives.

  • Establish media coverage goals by channel, campaign, and initiative. Develop thoughtful, strategic pitches by editor contact, campaign, and channel, crafting exclusive offers and embargo dates when needed for key campaigns.

  • Draft and distribute bi-monthly awards' bulletin to share news of award wins and submissions to all OXO staff.

  • Partner with Director of Marketing & Communications to develop PR messaging and communication that speaks to OXO's corporate responsibility journey.

  • Strategize with Corporate Responsibility and Brand Communications teams on messaging surrounding product launches with environmental implications, such as the use of recycled materials.

  • With PR Associate support, build and share weekly press highlights with all OXO associates and global counterparts.

  • Recommend annual and campaign-specific goals/critical metrics as aligned with the overall PR plan and marketing calendar.

  • Build and distribute a monthly PR Report of key activities, coverage, takeaways, leads, and share of voice. Ensure company priorities, goals and values are supported within direct and indirect teams (and encourage a shared vision with the team).


Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Strong written, verbal, and communication skills with thorough attention to detail. Excellent presentation skills to craft a strategic data narrative, time, and project management skills.

  • Established relationships with key editors and other contacts at major industry publications, newspapers, and digital publications

  • Ability to be the "face of the brand" in the editorial world, communicating with poise, skill, and passion


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Business or related field

  • 8+ years of experience in a marketing/communications role, preferably with consumer-packaged goods, food, lifestyle clients, or in-house brand work

  • 3+ years of leading a direct report or team

  • Experience working cross-functionally with marketing counterparts in social media, digital, affiliate, paid/advertising, etc.

  • Experience with established and emerging PR technologies (Cision)

  • Proficiency in MS Office programs, adobe software, social media programs, and google analytics


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in corporate responsibility/philanthropy communications

  • Familiarity with and usage of project management software tools (Asana, Basecamp, Smartsheet, etc.)
