Manages the Retail Planning process for the Amazon innerwear business, with the primary focus to negotiate and document all retail plan assumptions such that HBI and Amazon are driving toward shared goals for POS, Inventory and Profit. These shared goals must also maximize HBI's top line sales, market share & profitability. The shared goals are contained in the category ladder plans (tool used to project future business at Amazon and record historical results) for which the incumbent has full responsibility.

Collaborators must include: Amazon buyers and planners along with HBI Customer Development Manager, Planners and Category Managers. Both Amazon and HBI Planning Managers have a secondary role in the collaboration by specifying inventory metrics that should be achieved in the plans.

Develops & maintains strong partnership with Amazon Planning departments.

Presents annual plan and gains approval/sign-off from Amazon planning and buying teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manages weekly & monthly information in the ladders with focus on planning the business and explaining the results versus the plan and LY. Must ensure the accuracy/integrity of all ladder information.
  • Analyzes sales results, shares findings with CMG and SBU teams to recommend actions based on the analysis.
  • Maintains all data regarding Space (Door count, space (LF)/door, peg counts) in conjunction with the CDA (Customer Development Analyst). Analyzes modular productivity and makes assortment recommendations.
  • Ensures promotional events are planned and documented. Makes recommendations to maximize sales potential. Negotiates with planner at Amazon to gain agreement to allocate Open to Buy $'s to Hbi vs competition.
  • Develops ship projection estimates based on ladders. Must be able to explain the shipment calls and changes from shipment plans throughout the year. Develops the annual shipment plans (OP1/OP2) in conjunction with CDM. Communicates plans and rationale to cross-functional HBI teams including Sales, Marketing, Customer Operations and Supply Chain.
  • Negotiates appropriate inventory levels with Amazon Planners to secure Open to Buy $'s for Hbi and calculates resulting metrics including Turns, WOS and Sell-through to maximize POS and Inventory efficiency.
  • Manages communication & relationships with Retail Planners at Amazon including the negotiation of Open to Buy $'s allocated to Hbi replenishment and events. Collaborates with Retail Planning counterparts on short term & long-term opportunities & planning.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree required. MBA preferred
  • 5-8 years' experience in Retail, Replenishment, Sales or Inventory Management or Category Management.
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Strong PC skills
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills required
  • Leadership skills
  • Direct experience working with Amazon preferred.
