Job Description

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibility:

The position is primarily responsible for performing the preparation and administration of client pricing and contracts in Clinical / Hospital Sales and will ensure compliance with organizational policies and pricing practices. This position will draft and review agreements, working closely with the Executive Leadership in both Finance and Sales, Sales Leadership, Account Executives and Contracts team, and other internal stakeholders to ensure contracts meet business goals and requirements. Assist with the review of favorable terms, pricing, and conditions of customer contracts. Maintain the contract management process to ensure efficient contract execution and archiving. Act as subject matter expert on contracting and pricing process.

Essential Job Duties:

• Efficient data extraction, input and analysis using multiple data sources and contracts

• Perform preliminary reviews of contracts, inserting and/or revising standard language and summarizing key points for further review by contracts department or management

• Complete pricing analysis, to include pricing summaries and presenting reviews by senior leadership

• Lead and execute weekly pricing committee meetings with sales leaders and senior management

• Perform advanced analytics on average selling prices (ASP), internal costs, and pricing trends for laboratory testing

• Create and maintain appropriate pricing guidance for sales team at all levels

• Understand and be sensitive to client needs, balancing those needs with internal practices, goals, and priorities

• Quickly and efficiently move contracts and pricing through the processes of draft, approval, and administration

• Act as liaison to the sales department as contracts and pricing proposals move through process of approval

• Summarize historical and current customer profitability metrics and KPIs

• Track and work with laboratory leadership to update assay profitability models

• Provide any ad hoc contract, pricing and/or financial analysis for the Vice President of Finance and other senior leadership in support of the sales function

• Collaborate with the Contracts, Client Services, Sales and Billing teams to initiate process improvements in contracting and pricing

• Partner with Marketing team to identify possible pricing strategies, offers, and product promotions

• Work with internal and broader company procurement department to ensure appropriate pricing for incoming reagents and materials

• Conceive and execute ideas to improve company profitability

• Coordinate with sales and billing to implement pricing reviews and pricing updates

• Perform post-mortem offer analysis for senior leadership

• Represent department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established company standards and associate attributes at all times

• Assist with other duties other administrative duties as assigned/required

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• 3+ years of relevant reporting / analysis experience preferred

• Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree with coursework in the data analysis and/or data science preferred

• Master's degree or a high level of on-the-job training preferred

• Self-driven individual able to work autonomously

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamic 365 is preferred

• Thorough working knowledge of various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access). Advanced knowledge of Excel required; advance knowledge of Configure Price Quote(CPQ) preferred

• Working knowledge of business intelligence tools preferred

• Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills

• Able to understand nuances of contract language and pricing decisions

• Understanding of budgetary implications and corporate financial objectives

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail to ensure a high level of accuracy

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills

• Able to navigate data from various sources and use data to facilitate optimal decision making

• High level of curiosity and intellectual firepower

• Strong skills in multi-tasking and prioritization

• Ability to be proactive, handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure

• Ability to communicate with internal associates at all levels of the Company

• Ability to effectively influence others inside the Company as well as champion and implement ideas

• Ability to be flexible to a changing environment, acknowledging urgency when necessary

• Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in confidential matters

• Ability to demonstrate ethical conduct and decision-making skills

Physical Requirements:

• Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead

• Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting

• Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)

• Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions
