This is a Hybrid position that can be based in the Merrillville, IN or Chicago, IL office.
Main Purpose
This role will support the Accounting Manager in the execution of day-to-day accounting functions, month end closing process, and daily/weekly/monthly financial reporting. You will be responsible for reviewing multiple P&Ls for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Support general ledger monthly close process
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information to ensure compliance with Global Accounting Policies and GAAP
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of financial reports for department and management use
- Support audit processes
- Identify process improvements to create efficiencies
- Reconcile data across various platforms
- Other accounting tasks, projects, and ad hoc requests as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance is required
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting role
- Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, and IF formulas)
- Hands on, takes initiative, is actionable, and follows up
- Ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize tasks, and stay organized
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience utilizing ERP (SAP) is a plus
