RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is looking for a Service Operations Analyst in the Columbus, OH area. This is a 3rd shift position.The schedule for this position is:
  • Wednesday: 7:00pm - 7:00am
  • Thursday: 7:00pm - 7:00am
  • Friday: 7:00pm - 7:00am
  • Saturday: 7:00pm - 1:00am
Overview:The SOC analyst is expected to be on-site for majority of the work schedule but has the ability to work remotely (1) week a month. This is a contract-to-hire position with the contract being 6 months.The SOC Analyst is responsible for front line, real time, 24x365 monitoring and functional service verification as part of a shift team. This role is responsible for continuity of data recovery by ensuring that data is backed up and sent off site as defined in the operational support plan. The role monitors daily job schedules and verify that jobs complete successfully, taking corrective action to fix the problems as needed.The SOC Analyst is expected to show competency within at least one major monitoring tooling system. Analysts are expected to be able to investigate incoming events under supervision as required to determine if they are actionable, and to take appropriate action using documented policies and procedures.Duties:
  • Issue resolution - Perform effective issue analysis and remediation under supervision is a critical component of this position; At this grade a SOC Analyst is expected to be able to investigate issues and under supervision interact with organizations Systems using defined processes and tools to remedy the incident
  • Incident management - Responsible for creating and updating incident tickets in organizations provided incident tracking systems as needed
  • Execution of change activity - Support ongoing change execution to deliver features and functions for the organization's product base


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position requires a High School diploma/GED and experience in an information technology role, ideally supporting distributed systems at scale in a data center environment
  • Associates degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical area, certification or equivalent IT Operations experience is required
  • Certification in Web Services, Telecommunications, Linux or Databases
  • ITIL training and certification
  • 1-2 years of experience in IT Operations
  • Must have the ability to understand and interpret technical information in order to take action
  • Formal major incident management experience and training
  • Experience and knowledge in configuring and monitoring software
  • Technical, analytical, and communication skills to perform incident management for complex distributed systems and services
  • Ability to analyze and remediate independently
  • Must be able to effectively communication with developers, database administrators, application support staff, and business stakeholders
  • Must demonstrate very good verbal and written language communications skills; Verbal and written skills in multiple languages


The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
