Our Foodservice Practice is seeking an Account Specialist, Client Development who will be highly engaged in working with NPD's proprietary data sources to deliverable actionable insights to their clients. The Specialist will report to an Account Manager or Director, Client Development, and will develop relationships with restaurant operators and manufacturers. You will grow business relationships, drive client satisfaction, and meet and/or exceed revenue goals by delivering insightful industry analyses to support clients in developing and executing against their strategic plans.

This position will be based in Rosemont/Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Utilize our proprietary software to accurately pull and analyze data.
  • L everage NPD data to develop insights which help our Clients grow their business
  • Proactively search for meaningful trends within our data and sharing findings with clients and Foodservice team members
  • Create innovative ways to demonstrate the value of NPD's services to existing clients
  • Assist the team in creating client facing materials to support consultative selling opportunities
  • Manage the day-to-day account servicing for our clients, including managing data access rights, training, and answering inquiries
  • Be exceedingly familiar with NPD's many Foodservice data assets
  • Keep SalesForce current with client contact information and make sure the relevant people receive our proactive marketing materials
  • Partner with cross-functional departments to drive initiatives which support the sale and delivery of NPD's solutions
  • Understand our manufacturer and operator client organizations and their business strategies, objectives, and challenges
  • Find meaningful ways to apply intelligence in the client development process
  • Operate in a collaborative team environment providing support and cross-functional training as needed.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1-3 year(s) of prior of experience in a role which utilizes data and analysis to add value through report creation and delivery (food or foodservice experience a plus)
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint required
  • Highly detail oriented - with commitment to total quality and data accuracy
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills. Able to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
  • Experience or understanding of marketing, and a marketing mindset
  • Self-starter who takes action to achieve goals beyond expectations
  • A desire to learn client services, account management, and sales skills
  • Confident in presenting to small groups via phone and Zoom
  • Very strong oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel (<10%)
  • Exposure to consumer panel data and/or point-of-sale data is a plus
