PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review project plans, requirements, and specifications

• Produce accurate quantity takeoffs and labor, equipment and materials pricing

• Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks, and present those to Management

• Ability to understand and communicate project logistics and project schedule

• Prepare bid packages and solicitations for vendors and subcontractors. Compare and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes

• Prepare estimates at different levels of completion for various project delivery methods (Hard bid, Design-build, CMAR, PPP, JOC)

• Perform certain post-bid buyouts, assist with budget creation, subcontracts, PO's

• Perform pre-construction duties and meetings with Clients, Owners, Engineers and JV Partners

• Performs other related duties as required and assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or Architecture.

• A minimum of 8 years of experience as an Estimator

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior level estimating role

• A minimum of 12 years of construction experience

• Private and public works sector experience required

• Strong experience with estimating large/complex highway construction projects, with particular emphasis on earthworks, concrete structures, bridges, drainage, utilities and paving

• Experience with Design-build, CMAR, JOC project delivery methods are a plus

• Successful experience with large projects ($100M+) is desired but not required

• Advanced computer skills with estimating software (such as HCSS Heavybid) and takeoff software (such as AGTEK, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff)

• Advanced skills with Primavera P3, P6, MS Project or other scheduling software is necessary

• Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus

• Must be well organized, flexible, detail oriented and able to multi-task

• Prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines while constantly changing tasks and demands

• Effective presentation skills is a plus

• Excellent written an oral communicator

• Ability to lead and mentor a team is required
