Potential contract to hire opportunity!Job Title: Staff AccountantExpected Duration: 6 Months possible extension, potential to convert to perm/FTE.Location: Glen Allen, VAPay rate: $28.97/hr on W2

You will be part of a team of 10, and will receive hands-on training with an experienced team member. This is a hybrid role and currently requires 3 days a week in the office and 2 days remote.
JOB DESCRIPTION:The staff accountant's core responsibilities will be the completion of monthly journal entries and the timely analysis and reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts. In addition, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for reviewing client and vendor contracts and implementing invoicing and payment procedures that fully represent the terms of the contracts. Additional responsibilities include purchasing card reconciliations, and other tasks as assigned.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reconciling high volume purchasing card activity to ensure accuracy.
  • Review of client and vendor contract terms and guidelines.
  • Invoicing procedures that represent each client's specific contract terms.
  • Pursue collection efforts as required to ensure client payment within contractual timeframes.
  • Appropriate recording of client invoices and payments.
  • Monthly preparation of journal entries pertaining to designated client group. These include revenue accruals, related product cost accruals, cash receipts, accrued and accounts receivable, and accrued vendor payables.
  • Ensure all journal entries are completed as required for timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly forecasts by identifying trends and projecting client growth/decreases during the upcoming periods for both revenue and product costs. Other projects as assigned.

Education and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or comparable degree
  • 1-3 years of experience in Accounting
  • Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office software, especially Excel.
  • Experience with SAP a plus.
Demonstrated proficiency in the handling of large data elements is preferred.
