RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant in Washington, DC.Responsibilities:- Staff Accountant will create and forward invoices for solicited contributions and sponsorships
- Creates and forwards other miscellaneous invoices
- Tracks outstanding contributions, sponsorships, and receipt of funds
- Batches monthly payments and orders in the Association Management System (AMS)
- As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare monthly recurring and adjusting journal entries
- Records weekly bank activity and reconciles bank accounts
- Completes balance sheet account reconciliations and other subsidiary ledgers as assigned
- Assists with annual audits, including preparing audit schedules and other work papers
- Serves as a backup for Accounting Specialist
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or work experience in lieu of degree
- Three to five years of general accounting experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency with accounting and AMS systems (Sage Intacct preferred)
- Demonstrated attention to detail, time management, and communication skills (verbal, listening, written)
- Non-profit experience preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
