Structural Analyst

We are looking for a structural analyst to join our team! This role can sit in Huntsville, AL or Tucson, AZ. It requires a secret security clearance to start.

• What are the main functions of this role?
• Perform Hand Calculations to determine scope of higher detail analysis models
• Perform detailed analysis to solve diverse program structural challenges
• Perform peer reviews of all analysis to validate process and results
• Document results according to Raytheon standards
• Deliver results to customers (internal and external)
• Act as a technical leader and/or lead/mentor analysis team
• Required Skill Sets:
• A degree in Mechanical or related Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience with structural analysis
• Experience in Structural analysis structural (including static loads, thermally induced stress, shock, vibration, and fatigue) using ANSYS, NASTRAN, MSC Patran or equivalent
• Experience in mechanical principles to solve classical structural analysis solutions both inside and outside of finite element tools
• Experience in Windows and Office Suite
• Desired Skill Sets:
• Six or more years of experience in the structural analysis of complex systems that require collaboration of multiple engineering disciplines (such as a weapon system)
• Earned Value Management System knowledge
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Experience in Flutter, Dynamic shock and vibration analysis
• Strong interpersonal skills working in a team environment with positive interaction
• Ability to travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities
• Demonstrated experience in leading structural testing: Planning, organization, execution, data reduction and correlation
• Basic understanding of CAD tools in order to facilitate finite element solutions
• Advanced degree in aforementioned disciplines. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
