Job Description
Job Summary
Supervises the facility machine shop.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage the successful transition of new jobs and technology onto the Machine Shop floor
• Write machine justification requests
• Participate in concurrent design reviews.
• Evaluate and write routings/Machine Shop Instructions, specs and other documents.
• Evaluate and solve problems.
• Supervise machine shop operations including all activities of the shop floor and follow established procedures and approved processes.
• Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
• Required to wear safety glasses while performing specific tasks or while out on shop floor
Qualifications
• Minimum of an Associate's degree with concentration in manufacturing/tooling
• 4-5 years experience in a machine shop.
• Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Must have knowledge machining and assembly practices, tools, and fixturing
• Ability to working in a team environment, including vendors and customers.
• Must have complete knowledge of scheduling and shop operations.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, independent work abilities and adaptable.
• Must have very strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills, including group presentations.
• Must be computer literate
• Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.? Any unscheduled absence or tardy will have a negative impact on our ability to meet our production objectives.
