Purpose

The Supply Chain Manager oversees the distribution flow and inventory control of materials enabling CWS to operate at an optimal level and as a responsible steward of our funding. In coordination with the Operations team, the Supply Chain Manager will provide an efficient and 'customer friendly' service to other departments while thoroughly tracking every step of the process. This role is responsible for analyzing and resolving any distribution issues that may arise.

CWS seeks a motivated, detail-oriented individual with technical supply chain and inventory control experience and knowledge. The position accomplishes this through a respectful, constructive, and energetic style that complements the other members of the team and is guided by the strategic and operational objectives of CWS.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee warehouse and inventory control management policies and procedures, ensuring optimal efficiency and mitigating risks.
  • Support Supply Chain Director in providing procurement subject matter expertise to organizational leadership and across departments to ensure compliance of the procurement and purchasing policy.
  • Provides continuous improvement suggestions and support regarding the ystem, inventory control procedures, and distribution practices.
  • Maintain product integrity through proper classification and rotation of product, damage control, auditing and cycle counting.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures relating to warehouse and inventory management.
  • Provides training for managers, administrative staff, warehouse operators, and new users of the WMS systems.
  • Collaborate closely with finance and accounting team to ensure implementation and maintenance of inventory management align with ERP systems and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Analyzing and evaluating logistics operations and freight management; and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal policies, related laws, and regulations.
  • Supplies reports as needed and identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Supports the Supply Chain Director, Sr. Director for Operations and VP for Operations in implementing the operational systems and processes to undergird the organization in achieving its mission.
  • Standardizes policies and procedures and provides training and ongoing support to internal partners on implementing policies and procedures.
  • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, stakeholders, and community.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Manages warehouse-related supplier contracts and competitive bidding process for related goods and services.

Qualifications

Skills and experience:
  • Three to five years of supply chain, distribution, or related business experience, preferred in an international NGO environment.
  • General understanding of federal grants and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), specifically related to procurement and purchasing.
  • Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business operations, warehouse and inventory control management, logistics, and procurement.
  • Experience managing in-kind donations preferred.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior managerial and diplomacy skills.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and create partnerships across departments.
  • Strong supervisory skills with experience supervising remote staff
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time; travel will be assigned based on the needs of the organization.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field of study or equivalent experience.
