SUMMARY

Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers to produce the highest quality product from the raw materials received, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.

Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.

Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.

Maintains time and production records.

Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.

Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.

Performs activities of workers supervised.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises six or more employees in the production shift. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Posses a valid state drivers license. Have a valid powered Industrial truck license.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Keep work area clean and free of clutter(housekeeping); Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment(PPE); Using correct tool for each job assignment; Report injury of oneself or coworker to management; Report job hazards immediately (correct immediately when possible) and document; Inspect all tools and materials for defects and safety issues; Follow all safety rules and guidelines.

Hours: 3rd Shift Sunday to Wednesday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm

3rd Shift Thursday to Sunday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm

Sunday is usually planned as downtime for Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Training.

Shifts are subject to periodic rotation every 8 weeks
