As a Production Supervisor, the candidate will be responsible for safety, quality, daily delivery schedule and production cost in an assigned area. Supervisor will be responsible for coaching employees in all areas of the manufacturing process and act as a front-line resource for policy and procedure questions.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Manufacturing, this position is based in Shreveport, Louisiana*.

Major Accountability:

  • Responsible for Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost in assigned area
  • Coaching and fostering a good work culture
  • Maintain and encourage good communication between all departments

Essential Job Functions:
  • Implement and utilize measure controls for manpower requirements, machine and process capacities, schedule attainment, quality, and safety.
  • Identify constraints, manpower cross training and backfill needs, high cost centers, product cost and lead-time, or other areas where advanced manufacturing methods and processes need to be evaluated and deployed. Deploy LEAN manufacturing principles plant wide.
  • Provide a continuous learning environment for all employees under your direction. In conjunction with Human Resources, develop and implement an effective performance management, training and employee development processes. Ensure and implement a succession plan that targets key employees within areas responsibility assigned.
  • Assures maximum efficiency and productivity of employees with respect to production volumes, cost, quality, and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increases efficiency of shop, department or work crew.
  • Implement and utilize systems to improve productivity, product cost, capacity and load forecasting, process lead time, and employee engagement.

Job Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or higher is preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience supervising or leading employees in a manufacturing environment required; 6-8 years' experience supervising or leading employees in a manufacturing environment required in lieu of a degree.
  • Mircrosoft Office Suite experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) required.
  • Good interpersonal skills to influence team members.

Working Conditions:
  • Mainly plant setting with some office setting work. Requires routine mobility throughout the facility.
  • May be required to work off-schedule hours to meet goals and objectives.
  • Must be able to operate plant material handling equipment.
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
