Job Description Summary
Leads production staff to attain safety, food safety, quality and production goals. Leads team to identify, manage and execute the plant's process improvement opportunities. Manages and identifies problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves issues. Ensures production resources, including materials, equipment and human resources are available as needed to maintain production schedules. Supports continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost and customer service. Responsible for managing and owning various functions of the business and creating an engaged and team-oriented work force to improve business results.

Job Description

  • Identify problems or bottlenecks in production processes and resolves the issues.
  • Provide resources to position the team for success, including materials, equipment and human resources as needed to maintain production schedules.
  • Facilitate collaboratively on continuous improvement goals in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
  • Oversee various functions of the business and maintain an engaged and team-oriented workforce to improve business results.
  • Function as a good corporate citizen, a partner in improving our sustainable responsibilities, and a supporter of the local community.
  • Participate in a training process that develops new Operations Team Leads into leaders capable of taking on future advancement opportunities within our growing company.
  • Help lead, teach and foster our World Class Safety/Wellness Culture, which helps us recruit and retain a talented workforce.
  • Help team members develop personally and maximize self-work to identify, manage, and execute the plants process improvement opportunities.
  • Empower the talent of production staff to attain production and quality goals.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, a minimum of four years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
  • The ability to utilize personal computers and learn relevant software.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, and taste and smell.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
