Caterpillar is seeking a Technical Planning Manager in Sanford, NC. In this role, you will serve as subject matter expert for all tooling, fixtures and tackle types; Serves as technical resource for maintenance and repair of tools while ensuring safety and performance standards.

What you can look forward to doing in this role:

  • Supporting the team in implementing robust solutions to improve overall efficiency, yield, and uptime of the equipment.
  • Complying with safety, health, and environmental guidelines and participating in continuous improvement of the procedures related to mold design and tooling procurement.
  • Developing process and supervising inspection of tooling and mold repair to identify problems and potential solutions, and performing appropriate troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Driving continuous improvement for work orders, spare parts, and tooling parts consumption, and scheduled procedures using Computerized Management Tooling System.
A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills and have:
  • Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Design Thinking : Knowledge of concepts, principles, and processes of design thinking; ability to utilize the knowledge in designing new products and services and even improving organizational operation.
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems : Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts - Good written and oral communication skills
  • Supervisory experience - Familiar with company policies and procedures with a strong teamwork background
  • Able to build strong relationships with various stakeholders
  • AutoCAD and 3D modeling experience
  • Working knowledge of Standard Assembly tools and their applications
  • Lean Manufacturing Experience
  • Strong Blueprint Reading Skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule

The primary location for this position is Sanford, NC.
