YOUR ROLE

The Technical Writer is responsible for developing a broad range of documents for supply chain and logistics solution proposals, procedures, RFP responses and presentations.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

  • Responsible for gathering, composing, and editing technical information into clear, concise, readable documents for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Focus on leading efforts towards continuous proposal template updates and maintain an accurate and quality library of proposal writing for quick response processes.
  • Lead efforts to continuous improvement of technologies to support proposal writing.
  • Assumes a distinct and highly visible interdepartmental function but also performs mission critical tasks. Operate with the Project Management team and functional area experts under the supervision of the Senior Manager and/or Sales Director.
  • Perform writing, editing, and formatting services for executive management, functional management, and proposal management teams.
  • Research, develop, and write content for proposal documentation and supporting materials in supply chain and logistics solutions
  • Supervise the development edits and deliver final documents that meet policy standards such as industry technical writing standards for grammar, punctuation, and sentence form and structure.
  • Conduct audience analysis to identify the needs of the users, and interview subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy and determine the format of documentation.
  • Provide development of document plans, style guides, content specifications, information mapping, manuals, processes, proposals, and reports.
  • Organize, develop, and compose clear, concise, and readable technical documents that may include diagrams and flow charts and graphics that must be captured and manipulated to support content.
  • Prepare time-phased proposals and task reporting metrics in support of project assignments.
  • Submit outlines and drafts for reviews, and schedule meetings with SMEs to obtain comments and actionable items from reviews to include in the technical content.
  • Administration and process improvements with Qvidian Proposal Writing Tool
  • Organization of SharePoint, document control, New Business Qualification and Resource assignment.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Superior writing and communication skills with demonstrated knowledge of style guides
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) SharePoint (REQUIRED) and Qvidian (A PLUS)
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain, distribution, logistics industry highly desirable
  • Flexibility regarding schedule and task switching to meet deadlines and experience handling multiple complex projects simultaneously in various stages of production
  • Ability to translate ambiguous ideas, technical data, and complex information into straightforward, effective, and easily digestible documents or descriptions
  • Capability to balance team and individual responsibilities, exhibiting objectivity and openness to others' views, and giving and welcoming feedback
  • Effective prioritization skills with the ability to plan for additional resources, sets goals and objectives, properly organize tasks, and develop realistic action plans
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with an ability to work independently and/or with a variety of subject matter experts

Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Communication, or English (highly preferred but not required)
  • Minimum of 3 years of years minimum of related experience in technical or analytical writing
  • Understanding of supply chain, 3PL, and/or distribution
  • Outstanding written communication skills; Self-starter; Well-organized, detail oriented with excellent follow through; Goal oriented and driven to succeed; Accepts no excuses and highly motivated; Honest, fair, and able to build trust.
