Location: Bridgeport State Recreation Area, Bridgeport, Nebraska

This is a temporary position expected to last 11 months from start date.
Examples of Work
Supervise and perform technical and practical work supporting the development and use of Bridgeport State Recreation Area. Supervise and carry out various tasks involved in park maintenance, emergency response, campground and trail upkeep and accident prevention. Perform grounds maintenance and landscaping.

Operate/maintain grounds keeping equipment. Train and supervise seasonal workforce. Represent recreation area and Agency through contact with park guests. When needed handle public complaints. Maintain maintenance schedules, records and prepare appropriate reports. Assist with Agency special events and projects. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in park/recreation management or a related field; (wildlife, fisheries, natural resources sciences, public administration, history, cultural resource preservation or interpretation, travel and tourism, and planning) AND one year related experience. Related coursework/training and/or experience in park/recreation management or related field may substitute for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Other: Driver's license is required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to plan, manage, analyze and evaluate park maintenance. Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and application of park maintenance and conservation. Gain knowledge of departmental rules and regulations.

Ability to communicate effectively; establish and maintain community relations with park guests, local, state and federal agencies. Ability to learn park operations, administration and financial management. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

Ability to supervise subordinate staff and to enforce park rules and regulations. Ability to work weekends and holidays.
