Training Facilitator

Position Summary

The Training Facilitator will be responsible for planning and delivering effective training programs throughout their respective area of responsibility. This will include new hire onboarding, task training development, along with additional training objectives. The Training Facilitator will report to the Central Division Training and Development Manager. The overall goal of the position is to enhance the skills, improve performance, and support the overall objectives of the organization. The individual will need to be experienced on a wide variety of equipment and job duties associated with our industry. A likely candidate will have spent time working at all levels of our operations group, strong communication skills, a passion for learning, and be safety minded.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate training sessions for current and new employees maintaining safety in all aspects of our operations, which may include but not limited to:
    • New Hire Onboarding: Specific to site location requirements
    • Site Specific Training; including traffic patterns, loading/unloading procedures, lifting, job site activity, working around other trades, mobile equipment, backing, parking etc.
    • Daily pre/post maintenance inspections, record keeping, slam process, workplace exam, etc.
  • Utilize training material to effectively engage with approved internal/external resources
  • Conduct in person training and hands on training
  • Collaborate with safety team and leadership to ensure content accuracy
  • Stay current on changes to equipment, technology and job site procedures
  • Adapt training methods to accommodate learning style
  • Complete required training and possess the ability to gain various certifications
  • Assess the effectiveness of the training programs through feedback (which may include tests, surveys, and individual feedback)
  • Maintain accurate records of training outcomes, certifications, and attendance.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of underground mining experience
  • Blue Card Certified
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Strong knowledge ofthe safety culture
  • Excellent driving, safety and attendance record
  • Exemplifies Leadership qualities and the ability to work independently and within a group setting
  • Act in a professional, courteous manner, lead by example and performs other duties as required
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to operate different technology platforms (PowerPoint, excel, tableau, etc.)
  • Effective communication/presentation skills and ability to teach and lead other
  • Frequent travel- including overnight
