Responsibilities

The Unit Support Associate functions under the direction of the Clinical Nurse Supervisor, Chief Technologist or facility leader to facilitate the safe and appropriate transportation of patient. Duties include, but are not limited to: cleaning of transportation equipment, proper handling of IV and O2 equipment, assisting with ambulation, stocking of supplies, verification of patient identification, use of scripting with patients, assisting with patients to and from imaging tables, use of AIDET, adherance to all policies. The USA must be able to work in a fast paced environment, which requires multi-tasking activities and ongoing communication with the appropriate team members. Must be able to perform under stressful conditions with a compassionate, respectful, and helpful manner. Must be able to take direction from a variety of care providers. Must be organized with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education

  • High school graduate or equivalent
Required Minimum Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
Required Minimum Experience
  • Prefer hospital experience
Required Skills
  • Ability to read and speak the English language
  • Must demonstrate good communication skills and handwriting
  • Must display a positive attitude
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with other health care providers in the provision of patient care
  • Ability to multi-task essential
  • Ability to function in stressful and emergency situations essential
  • Strong detail orientation required
  • Computer skills required
  • Personal time management skills are required
