Veritiv's Warehouse Coordinator will verify and maintain records for incoming and outgoing shipments. They will prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Use standard office software to carry out basic formatting on letters, memoranda and routine reports.
  • Maintain files and records.
  • File and retrieve documents from company filing systems.
  • Perform basic data entry tasks.
  • Exchange information with internal clients by having courteous interactions with them.
  • Follow a straightforward mandatory procedure to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct.
  • Follow basic mandatory work instructions (including use of personal protection equipment where relevant) to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
  • Develop and maintain excellent skills by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must be available to work 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years working in a warehouse environment. Distribution warehousing experience preferred.
  • Must possess a basic understanding of the distribution business.
  • Ability to develop proficiency with company computer system is essential. Familiarity with computerized warehouse system, preferred.
  • PC proficient in Windows based software programs. Familiarity with MS Office Software and has good basic keyboarding skills.
  • Good math skills and ability to operate a calculator, required.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail required.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Responsibilities include regularly working in a non-climate controlled warehouse where exposure to cold, heat, damp or humid conditions may occur.
  • Will work around moving machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
  • Exposure to dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, operating vehicles and shift work is required.
  • A portion of the incumbent's job responsibilities will require computer keyboard work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for frequent periods of time. The incumbent is required to talk, see and hear.
