We are looking for an enthusiastic and eager Junior or Senior level Water Resource Engineering - Environmental Engineering Student for an internship position at GHD's Eureka, CA office.

As a Water resources engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to focus on various areas of expertise including water resources, hydrology and hydraulics, storm water and flood management, engineering research, GIS analyses, design plans, specification writing and construction cost estimating.

In this role you will be involved in the following activities within the multiple engineering teams (integrated water management, transportation, contamination and remediation):

• Working collaboratively with a group of professionals that are active on projects throughout North American, but mainly within Humboldt County
• Undertake tasks in a number of different areas of environmental engineering and for different managers and teams, driving experiential learning through exposure to various work types and approaches, and working in an inter-disciplinary role
• Field activities as permitted by health and safety training, that may include supporting monitoring and sampling activities
• Data Management and analysis of analytical results, including reporting duties to senior staff to support desktop and field based project tasks
• Drafting of internal and client memos, including assistance with interpretation of results
• Assisting with the preparation of various figures, quotations, and data presentation materials
• Assisting with preparation of annual monitoring reports for waste facilities or quarries

The ideal candidate would have the following skills:

• Junior or Senior level Environmental/Civil Engineering student and interest in water/wastewater, hydraulics, construction, and the broader range of civil disciplines
• Good attention to detail, communication, and writing skills
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Previous pertinent experience is an asset
• Intermediate level MS Office skills are required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• AutoCAD experience (preferred)
• Valid driver's license

Salary Range: $22.00-$25.25 based on experience.
